One Early Night, One Dead Mic, Zero Regrets | Broken Oar 4.3.26

Whole band on stage at the Broken Oar

There’s something deeply satisfying about a rock show that starts at 7:00 p.m.

You get the music.
You get the crowd.
You get the adrenaline, the noise, the lights, the fun…

…but you still have a fighting chance of being a functional person the next day.

Honestly? No complaints here.

So last weekend, we “technically” had our debut show at The Broken Oar—we played a few songs at Gordypalooza last month, but stepping into a more featured spot this time was a very cool moment for us.

And even better? You showed up.

Some familiar faces from Gordypalooza came back to see us again, which means a lot. There’s nothing better than realizing someone saw you once and thought, “Yeah, I’d do that again.”

Britt and Alisa just before the show

Another cool surprise came from James I. Foreman—he gets the ultimate Soulmate gold star for coming back to see us, taking photos and videos, and generously letting us share them on our socials! That kind of support means the world.

But, there's more! We had several musician friends in the crowd...

Which is flattering.
And supportive.
And exciting.

And just a teensy bit terrifying.

It's like being lovingly evaluated by people who absolutely know what can go wrong. But hey, we’ll take it — because having talented friends come out to support us is a HUGE compliment we never take lightly!

After our set, No Limit took the stage. Really, really liked them! Turns out, our set lists overlap quite a lot, which means they clearly have excellent taste and can be trusted in all important musical matters. Soulmates, consider this your official recommendation. Good people, great sound, strong song choices. We approve.

As for mishaps… we had one.

Britt’s mic died at the very end of Champagne Supernova.

And you know what? That’s live music, baby.

It’s alive. It breathes. It wobbles once in a while. It surprises you. And sometimes the batteries tap out when they've given all they can give… just to keep everybody humble.

And then there’s The Broken Oar itself.

If you’ve been there, you already know. If you haven’t, here’s your sign. It’s just a great place to be — great food, live music, and an amazing atmosphere once summer kicks in and the marina is rocking.

So, just putting this out into the universe:

A summer Seven Soul night at The Broken Oar sounds like a very solid idea.

Just sayin. 😎

To everyone who came out, sang along, cheered us on, snapped photos, shared videos, and spent your evening with us… THANK YOU

Nights like this remind us why we love doing what we do!
